The depth of the image which can remain in acceptably sharp focus with any given lens and given aperture. With telephoto lenses this is very narrow, with macro lenses narrower still. Wide angle lenses can keep nearly all of an image sharp. The Hyperfocal Distance (best chance of keeping everything in focus) is about 1/3rd of the way into the image.

Depth chart position

Compared to other American football positions, the holder is one of the most trivial positions, requiring precision in the receipt of a snap and placement of a ball in short time, but requiring far less physical talent than a skill position and much less bulk or strength than a lineman.
