Did I Sound Mean at Orchestra?

You definitely do not sound like a mean person at all. You are more sincere in apologies and how other people feel more than a lot of people. If you see the person you saw that day while you said "Need to pack up", then just go up to her (do not be shy ;) ) and say something like "Hey, Sorry if this sounds weird or anything but yesterday I was talking to my friend and I thought we were alone so I said "need to pack faster" but I did not know you were there so when I saw you I did not want you to feel as though I was talking about you. Sorry if there was any misunderstandings." I did not know if you meant you were concern that she thought you were talking about her or your friend. If you meant like you were bossing your friend around, I doubt the girl would really care if you were bossy to your friends because friends tease each other a lot . Also, about that running incident in the morning, forget about it. People are not going to think about it for the rest of the day and probably are going to forget about it within a week. Anyway, now you know how things work, you can do it right the next day. If you really want to let the teacher know you said thank you, next time you see her just say "I did not think you heard me yesterday but thanks for tuning my instrument." I bet like half the people there might have not even said it. The teacher is not going to remember who said thank you or not so you really should not worry about it. Last thing. Breaking up a friendship always makes you feel sad and with negative feelings, but you feel temporary pain from that than having to deal with the pain that's ongoing coming from the relationship you have with her. If you still have a little opening in your heart to let it back in, only let it back in if she is sincerely sorry and promises not to do it again.

1. Chance of getting into Iowa All-State orchestra?

identifying on the astonishing college is a vital determination which will define your college journey and effect something of your existence, so elect wisely! that is staggering which you are beginning the college technique early. do no longer forget approximately that your SAT scores will carry some weight on your application, alongside which comprise your college essay & any supplemental essays that each college will require. try for all your attain colleges (in the journey that your mothers and fathers are pleased with all the app expenses!) and confirm you have some "risk-free practices" colleges, basically in case.

2. Can a highly experienced Philharmonic Orchestra do a whole symphony without a conductor, who only comes out for a moment and starts the first downbeat and then walks off?

It can. I was assisted a symphony by Mozart (No. 29 in A) without the need of a conductor. The first beat was always given by the leader. After this, the orchestra accompanied the world-famous cellist Rastropovich in a concerto for cello by Joseph Haydn. And this also without a conductor. However, as composers became more daring, the conductor became obligatory in the cohesion of the music with the players. An example that comes to mind is the last (fourth) movement of Brahms's symphony no. 1. I cannot see how an orchestra can do without an orchestra.

3. Am I the only Electric Light Orchestra fan in the world??

Yeah, they rocked! yet then Jeff Lynne left and that they sucked somewhat. yet then Jeff Lynne did 'raise Me Up' which i like. you may hear it on the ultimate credit of Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigolo.

4. Causes of the problems with hearing the singers over an orchestra

Simple answer - the orchestra was too loud. Easy to do in this piece. But no need to make excuses for it. It was not the room's fault, it was the conductor's and performers' faults. It was their job to present a good balance to the audience. They failed.

So I Have an Orchestra Question?
So I Have an Orchestra Question?
Sam Adams wins palms down. (Oops, sorry, bought hooked at the Beer, Wine and Spirits factor) I do not believe those lists very a lot. Records deliver you a photo of what the orchestras have been while the list was once made, no longer what they are now -plus sound engineers and virtual version have a large contribution to the effect. To make a tight contribution to one of these record, you ought to be a wholly independent critic, capable to get rid of your private style in tune and areas out of your opinion, and being paid to journey all over the place the sector to look each and every best efficiency. I critically doubt whether or not that uber-critic even exists. I have many Concertgebouw documents beneath Haitink and they are impressive, however I as soon as noticed it are living with Chailly and I was not that inspired. But I ought to admit I did not love the software (Mahler and R. Strauss) so I am no longer independent. I are living in Chicago so I get to look the CSO greater than different orchestras, and the Barenboim technology was once as well because it might be. Too unhealthy the programmers insisted on showcasing "crossover" or downright pop musicians means too regularly till he bought worn out and deserted the boat.1. Would anyone recommend the the Samson Zoom H4 Recorder for Voice and Piano or Voice with Orchestra?I have the Zoom H4. It's very easy to use, light and portable. But if you are running Leopard on your Mac (OS 10.5) then you will need a few updates in order to use it. See the links. Otherwise it's a really nifty little recording device and the sound is quite good2. Playing an audition for an orchestra with a cold?i am a expert violinist in a symphony orchestra. Sight analyzing is a skill that's significant and can be progressed. i could propose you contain some sight analyzing into your on a daily basis practice schedule. it particularly is advisable to get between the violin orchestra excerpt books (I even have some left over from my college days-they are revealed by way of international music). The excerpt books contain excerpts often asked in orchestral auditions. on a daily basis spend a minimum of half-hour doing no longer something yet sight analyzing. the suited technique for sight analyzing is to take the minute you are allotted to look over the music to purpose and locate the passages that are puzzling (so which you do no longer elect a pace it is so quickly you finally end up slowing right down to house a puzzling passage) and places the place you need to have intonation issues so which you will think of with regard to the kind you will finger that passage. in case you have a private instructor ask him/her that should assist you with sight analyzing. If achievable, ask to play mock auditions in front of acquaintances so which you get used to enjoying in front of human beings. do somewhat prognosis on rest ideas so which you will seize up on the inevitable nerves (I constantly tend to bypass plenty quicker than typical in an audition). finally, in the audition, earlier you play confirm you are taking countless deep breaths to calm your self earlier enjoying. stable success to you! efficient 2d Violin is a huge place to have in the orchestra-i am hoping you get it!.3. What is your worst experience with an orchestra or band teacher?Oh boy. Alrighty we have teacher A who we will name apple. The teacher b who we will name banana. So it was my fresman year and apple was my conductor. She was amazing. Orchestra felt like a family and fun, but we also got stuff done when we needed stuff done. There was no messing around when we seriously needed to focus, but we felt comfortable. That amazing in a high school orchestra. It is not our job. We are not getting paid. We use it as our escape. So end of the year comes. Apple says she is moving schools so her kids can go somewhere else. We all are destroyed. We move on though. Here comes sophomore with Banana. So originally I was optimistic. Very optimistic. I was like orchestra is gonna stay great! He seems chill! And I tried keeping spirits up. But then, when the 2nd week of school came and 45 minutes of the class was tuning and the second 45 minutes was scales? And then he was late dismissing us. And it took half the semester to even play real music? And the music we then played was way below our level? Yeah. There is a lot wrong banana has done. He destroyed the family of orchestra, he destroyed the fun, he brought in a lot of band things (he plays trumpet), he crushed a lot of our spirits. So many kids have quit since he showed up. But it gets worse, he randomly started trying to be all buddy buddy with us, but then when we do it back we get in trouble. I recently moved up a class (difficulty) and it's been better. But that's because we are the top class. The bottom two are subjected to nothing but warmups, scales, tuning, and all that

Halford's orchestra was founded in 1897 by the conductor and composer George Halford, supported by a syndicate of 54 influential Birmingham citizens under the presidency of the city's Lord Mayor. Since 1856 Birmingham's leading permanently-established orchestra had been William Stockley's Orchestra, which had performed regular annual seasons of concerts since 1873. By the end of the century the ageing William Stockley had come to be seen as increasingly outdated and his orchestra was considered to lack players of reputation. Halford sought to establish a permanent orchestra to rival any in the country, to be staffed increasingly with locally based musicians. Its launch was heralded in the local press as "a local musical enterprise exceeding in scope and intention anything within living memory" and "the most important and the most extended orchestral undertaking Birmingham has yet witnessed". Halford's orchestra had 80 players, led jointly by Ernest Schiever and Fred Ward, who were also the leaders of the Birmingham Festival Orchestra under its conductor Hans Richter. The layout of the orchestra was unusual, with the wind instruments placed in the middle of the platform and the string instruments to the side - an arrangement that the composer Havergal Brian credited with the orchestra's fine ensemble and tutti. Brian later commented on how "Constant playing under its own and distinguished conductors has made the Halford band a most pliable instrument. The attack, the manner - almost effortless - in which a forte rises from the faintest pianissimo, the perfect phrasing, are several features of this fine orchestra." Concerts were held fortnightly at Birmingham Town Hall on Tuesday evenings between October and March each year. Detailed analytical programme notes about the music to be played were made available ten days before a concert, open rehearsals were given and sometimes concerts were accompanied by lectures from the visiting musicians. Halford was highly ambitious in his repertoire for the orchestra, his idealism leading him to plan programmes that would challenge his audience. In ten seasons Halford's orchestra gave over 80 works their Birmingham premieres, including pieces by the Russian composers Alexander Borodin, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Modest Mussorgsky and Alexander Glazunov; the Austrian Anton Bruckner and British composers Edward Elgar, Rutland Boughton, Granville Bantock and Charles Villiers Stanford, as well as neglected works by Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. Two complete cycles of Beethoven symphonies were given, one season saw all of the orchestral works of Brahms performed, and during the 1900-1901 season many concerts were dedicated to the work of a single composer, with nights devoted to Wagner, Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn. Halford's orchestra was taken seriously by many outstanding musicians from outside the city and composers were often invited to conduct performances of their own music. On 21 January 1902 Edward Elgar conducted the orchestra in his own Cockaigne and his first two Pomp and Circumstance Marches; and on 20 December 1904 the composer Richard Strauss conducted a programme consisting of his three tone poems Don Juan, Death and Transfiguration and Ein Heldenleben. Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 was to have been given its British premiere by Alexander Siloti with Halford's orchestra in Birmingham on 4 March 1902, but the concert had to be cancelled due to the soloists's illness. The Musical Times indicated that the concert was first planned to take place even earlier and Havergal Brian asserted that Rachmaninov had written the work specifically for Halford. The orchestra also attracted prestigious soloists: as well as Siloti pianists who performed alongside Halford's orchestra included Ferruccio Busoni, Ern Dohnnyi, Arthur De Greef, Percy Grainger, Frederic Lamond and Egon Petri; violinists included Adolph Brodsky, Lady Hall, Willy Hess, Joseph Joachim, mile Sauret, Eugne Ysae and Fritz Kreisler. Although Halford's concert series were considered artistically successful by critics, attendances were variable and in 1901 the Halford Concerts Society was established to cover financial losses, with members guaranteeing at least five pounds to provide Halford's organisation financial security to allow his adventurous programming to continue. By 1906, however, interest and support for the orchestra was declining and the standard of performances was increasingly coming under attack by the critic Ernest Newman of the Birmingham Post. In 1906 Halford's players reformed into the self-governing Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, which was run on cooperative lines and continued to perform until 1918 - one of several competing orchestras that filled the gap between the decline of Halford's orchestra and the birth in 1920 of the City of Birmingham Orchestra, later the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Halford gave four more concerts under his own name in 1907 and remained as Music Director of the new orchestra, but conducted only half of its concerts, with the remainder conducted by visiting conductors.

I Love Classical Music and the Orchestra, but How Do I Love String Quartets Or Violin Solos?
You think that is like fingernails scraping a blackboard? Strewth!1. "Designer" clothes: "Dream" team: your I D E A L symphony/operatic orchestra?Ok the best orchestra is the Cleveland Orchestra and they should naturally play in the best theatre, Severance Hall2. For a showing of Thornton Wilder's "Our Town", why are on stage seats cheaper than orchestra seats?On-stage seating will bring you physically closer to the performers than orchestra seating, but it means that they will be facing away from you for most of the performance. Standard orchestra seating is more expensive, but it is a better chance to see and hear the play as it was intended to be seen.3. What caused the guitar, an instrument not found in a typical orchestra, to become the de-facto popular music instrument?I don't follow your logic, because:Keyboard instruments aren't to be found in a standard symphony orchestra either. They generally only get used when the orchestra is performing a piano concerto etc; just so the guitar would usually only makes an appearance when they are performing a guitar concerto. And guess what? The most typical, commonplace music performances don't involve an orchestra. Orchestral performances are actually a real rarity. Many composers who wrote music for symphony orchestra never even got to hear most, if any, of their music performed. Composers who write for orchestra are really rare compared to composers who write along more modest lines. Q. What are the two instruments you are most likely find in someone's house?A. Guitar &/or some kind of keyboard.Guitar is very popular because it's relatively easy to learn to play on it the basic major 7 minor triads and dominant 7 chords which form the harmonic basics of most pop and folk songs. This makes the guitar very useful as a stand alone instrument for composing songs on and for accompanying singers. It's also a very versatile instrument, as it can be taken way beyond the easy to learn basics if you want put in the time and effort to learn to play virtuoso solos and instrumental pieces on it.And it's eminently portable as well - unlike a piano or a double bass, or cello even. So, what makes you think that being used in a typical orchestra would make a musical instrument particularly popular? What caused the guitar, an instrument not found in a typical orchestra, to become the de-facto popular music instrument?.4. Are there sections of the orchestra that traditionally or historically have disliked other sections or been jealous of them?Watch closely, and look for whoever is turning the pages. Those are the jealous ones. ;)People are people, so there will be politics, so you will have that.Whoever sits in front of percussion thinks they are too loud. Same for the poor souls in front of the trombones at the end of Bolero. Or next to the piccolo at any time. Then there's an entire section of violinists called "2nd".And every principal chair of every section is aggravated at the attention the "concertmaster" (first chair violin) receives. Well, only slightly more than every other person in the orchestra is aggravated by the concertmaster.in cheek>5. What can get a musician fired from a symphony orchestra? In a union orchestra, once the player has tenure, it's very difficult to fire that person. I would say the #1 reason in recent years has been overt sexual or physical harassment (through usually male->female, that is not always gender-specific, by the way) and that must go through a protracted arbitration process. Because the quality of playing is subjective, firing on those terms is tall order and usually only accomplished when a lower position (like 2nd flute) is vacated and the musician is not fired but offered a demotion. Unrelated criminal charges, I can not imagine that would be cause of termination, even if the person is incarcerated, and I can think of at least one example of that.6. what are your favorite bands?Lacuna Coil Diablo Swing Orchestra Within Temptation Octavia Sperati Tarja Nightwish Xandria Lunatica Ambeon Apocalyptica Elis Hydrogyn Krypteria7. How I do I notate an orchestra part where the 1st flute also plays piccolo?Much good advice ( and a little erroneous) so far. However, as a professional flutist and piccoloist, I warn you that sometimes we are gonna play what we feel like playing, because that is what WORKS. There are passage that are uncomfortable in the 3rd octave of the flute - we are gonna pick up the picc. There are passage that are written low on the picc ( Mahler?) that we pick up the flute. There are threads right now on some of the professional flutist lists about low Cs in picc parts. So ASK a flutist - and then write what you wish - and then be prepared to have some of them change your directions. There is a famous "new conductor" story about a clarinet part. As you know the Bb part is often printed on one side of the page, and the A part on the other. Story goes - the conductor *insisted* that it be played, let's say, on the A clarinet. Having both clarinets on the stand, the player made a show of swabbing, putting down one clarinet, messing with a reed and mouthpiece, DROPPING THE MUSIC, and then picking up the SAME original clarinet, and flipping the music over to the *correct* side. "Ah - much better!" crowed the conductor. Yeah, right. Write the flute/picc part on one staff. Be prepared for professional expertise to have some input.
Let's Talk About the Application of Thermal Conductive Silica Gel in LED Lighting Industry
Thermal conductive silica gel sheet is a widely used thermal conductive interface material. It is in the form of sheet, high pressure shrinkage, high reliability, high temperature resistance, excellent thermal conductivity and insulation, with viscosity on the surface, simple and convenient construction. It can be die-cut and punched according to the size and shape of heating devices.Heat conductive silica gel sheet is a kind of heat conductive medium material made by calendering with silica gel as the base material and adding various auxiliary materials such as metal oxides. It is usually called heat conductive gasket, heat conductive silica gel gasket, heat conductive silicon film, soft heat conductive gasket, heat conductive silica gel pad, etc. it is specially produced for the design scheme of using the gap to transfer heat and can fill the gap, It not only completes the heat transfer between the heating part and the heat dissipation part, but also plays the roles of insulation, shock absorption and sealing. It can meet the design requirements of miniaturization and ultra-thin equipment. It is a good heat conduction filling material with manufacturability and usability, and has a wide range of thickness and Application.Led thermal conductive silicon film is mainly used between aluminum substrate and heat sink, between aluminum substrate and shell, etc. Today, we mainly introduce the successful application of thermal conductive silica gel sheet in LED industry: there are many kinds of LED lamps. For indoor LED lamps, thermal conductive silica gel sheet with relatively low thermal conductivity is generally used, which can reduce the cost of the product and meet the needs of the product itself. For some outdoor high-power LED lamps, such as street lamps, the power is much higher than other indoor lamps, In order to better heat dissipation of lamps and improve the service life of lamps, thermal conductive silica gel sheets with relatively high thermal conductivity are generally used. The inherent viscosity of the heat-conducting silica gel sheet facilitates the construction. If the customer needs the heat-conducting silica gel sheet to have strong viscosity to replace the screw fixation, he can also choose to give one-sided or double-sided adhesive backing to the heat-conducting silica gel sheet. If the heat-conducting silica gel sheet needs to lock the screw, please remember to choose the heat-conducting silica gel sheet containing glass fiber cloth, which has the properties of anti puncture and anti tear. In short, the heat conductive silica gel sheet can be customized according to customer requirements to meet customer needs. It can be die-cut and punched according to the size and shape of heating devices.
7 Tips to Help You Sell Your Farm Fresh Eggs for More Money
The continuing trend of raising backyard chickens has had an unintended negative effect on those selling their extra eggs. Due to a steady supply of fresh eggs from backyard flocks and small local farms at markets, roadside stands and feed stores, egg prices are being kept artificially low. But there are some things you can do to help you sell your fresh eggs for a bit more money. When you begin to calculate your expenses - including egg cartons, labels, business cards, feed, supplements, supplies, the chickens themselves, plus their coop and run, not to mention a little something for your time, and gas to get to the market - it's often hard to sell a dozen eggs for a high enough price to simply break even. Many times, local eggs are sold for about the same price as store-bought eggs, despite being fresher and more nutritious AND laid by happy hens. And when you sell your eggs, you are not only competing against the low grocery-store prices, but also against other local sellers. Studies have shown that buyers will more likely make a purchase when you engage more than one of their senses. So by enticing potential shoppers' sense of touch, sight, sound and possibly even taste, you have a better chance at making that sale. Here are some tips to engage the senses, get your eggs to stand out from the crowd and possibly even fetch a premium price. If you are selling at a farmers' market or fair, crack an egg into a bowl to show potential buyers how great your eggs look. Eggs from chickens that eat a lot of herbs, grass and weeds will naturally have more vibrant yolks and look fresher than store-bought eggs from caged chickens. But you can bump up the wow factor of your chickens' egg yolks even more by feeding foods high in xanthophyll, a carotenoid with a naturally orange pigment. Some foods rich in xanthophyll include basil, carrots, corn, marigolds, parsley, pumpkin, red cabbage and the leaves of most green plants. Adding a pop of color to your cartons can entice buyers to your table. Raise some chickens that lay blue, green or cream-colored eggs to create some eye candy in your cartons! Chicken eggs can be a dime a dozen because of the large supply available, but there are other types of poultry that lay eggs. Duck eggs are larger than chicken eggs and thought to be to be better for baking due to their higher fat content. Tiny quail eggs are considered a delicacy and are often pickled or used by five-star chefs to top burgers or salads due to their smaller size and relative rarity. There might also be a market for turkey and goose eggs in your area - and you will likely be able to set your own price. Studies show that someone is more likely to purchase an item if they have touched or held it. Consider putting out a basket of eggs on your table and handing an egg to anyone who stops at your table. Give out free samples - let people take home an egg to try it for themselves. Hopefully, that will compel them to come back the next week to buy - if they do not buy a dozen eggs on the spot. Make your packaging unique. Instead of simply packaging your eggs in cartons and stacking them on the table, why not tie a pretty ribbon or some baker's twine around the carton and attach a wildflower or sprig of herbs? Maybe even tuck a simple egg recipe in. Or fill large baskets or metal pails with eggs and let your buyers hand select a dozen to put in their carton. And do not forget to pass out business cards. Sending each customer away with your contact information is a must to make it easy for them to locate you when they are ready to reorder. Studies have shown that chickens raised on pasture produce more nutritious eggs than chickens that never see the light of day or step foot on grass. Pasture-raised chickens have access to a more diverse diet, including a variety of forages and insects, which can lead to increased levels of vitamins A and E and omega-3 fatty acids. Other studies have shown that chickens raised on grass lay eggs that are lower in cholesterol than those raised on a commercial feed-only diet. Share this information with your potential customers by printing out a nutritional comparison on cards or handouts that they can take home with them - and be sure the handout has your contact information on it too! If possible, play a recording of chickens softly clucking with an occasional rooster crowing at your booth. The sound of happy chickens in the background will work to engage yet another sense and hopefully give your buyers the urge to bring home some farm fresh eggs! And back to sight for a minute, photographs of your chickens or a large poster showing them happily roaming a field can help reinforce the positive image of your farm and your eggs - you are putting faces and even names to the producers! Using a little creativity will give you a leg up on your competition and hopefully fetch higher prices for your delicious, fresh eggs! Also check your state Department of Agriculture's egg laws or cottage-food regulations, so you are aware of egg grading, handling and storing requirements, rules about the reuse of cartons and carton labeling regulations - including the use of such terms as organic, free-range and pasture-raised. Your local extension service should be able to point you in the right direction to get that information or you can find it online. Egg laws vary state by state.Where do they sell jacuzzi?Jacuzzis R us Sells pretty good ones ay low prices Or craigslist Has one for free in LA Go quick
Need Help Finding Kitchen Items and Sofa?
The daybed and the island appear custom made to me. Any of the kitchen redesigners should be able to replicate the island without difficulty. The "tiles" on the floor are flagstone and any slab or rock yard has them, but to use on subflooring you need them guaged so that they all lay even. It takes EVERYTHING out. It's called Folex and you can find it at Walmart. It's cheap too2. Is my sofa ruined? Help!?!?Just in case scratch it all over. Apply the oil to make it match. This is creativity. You just might like the new look3. Bernhardt sofa back support fallen off internally. Springs OK. Any ideas how to fix the sofa?Well, hubby fixed ours by opening it up, finding the broken piece and replacing it with fresh wood and screws and like the guy earlier stated, problem solve--then he used his staple gun to put the upholstery back in place. Worked quite well and looked professional4. Is buying a sofa from Walmart a good idea?Well even Target does not sell quality furniture. We bought a 5 piece dining room table a year ago and it's scratched up. We do not use it daily, it definitely was not worth $225 and likely can not sell it. I would suggest Garage Sale, Estate Sales, Dock 86, Secondhand shops, or Slumberland had a pretty decent sale on the July 4th, I am sure they will have a great sales weekend Labor Day, We bought a chocolate chenille couch for $580 normally $900. Free Delievry.5. how can i get rid of an unwanted sofa?Place it for free on the Craiglist in the free items section. Depending on where you live someone will be there in a snap to pick it up. If you have a digital camera take pictures also and upload them on the listing. Good Luck.6. How can I save my sofa?Get a strong piece of plywood and cover it with foam batting and stick it underneath the couch cushions. It should give enough support until you can replace it. Congrats on the new home.7. how to get candle wax out of upholstry [ sofa ] ?ummm...sarah has a point...but with something that is as fragile as micro-fiber I think personally I would allow the wax to completely harden and pull up as many pieces as I could as carefully as I could . Just so you do not over stretch the fabirc and cause raised spots. you could gently scrape away the rest. If there is still some in the couch...look up the manufacturers recommendations with water. If its okay with water, then use an ice cube to freeze more of it off. Or, you could even just put the ice in a ziplock bag and just do it that way. I would not take an iron to the couch...microfiber is a bit too satin-y for that. Just work slowly and carefully...and keep at it. Good luck.8. How to make Sofa seats "higher"?You could raise the sofa by placing concrete blocks under all 4 corners. Then get some boards & cover them in fabric or paint them or stain them & place them like a "skirt" under the 3 sides of the sofa. You could even give it an industrial look by using metal sheets or gridwork. As for the cushions, you do not say if they are attached or loose. If they are loose, hopefully they are zippered. In which case you will go to a fabric store & buy some dacron sheets & wrap the cushions with the sheets using a spray glue so it does not shift. Use a dry cleaning bag over the cushion to get it to slide easily back into the cover. Using dacron will probably be a lot less expensive than buying new foam cores, but look into that also - just find an upholstery outlet in your area. You can also just put boards under your cushions, but that will just feel firm, not more comfortable. If your cushions are attached there is not much you can do. You can always look for a sofa on craigslist, but just be sure that you disinfect it.

Good luck, great idea... it may cost a bit but why not ..— — — — — —What Is a Radiant Floor Heating System?Radiant heat is not exactly a new idea. Turkish and Roman baths were often constructed on raised floors so warm air could circulate underneath and keep things comfortable. Incorporating radiant heating systems into modern dwellings did not become popular, however, until the mid 20th century. Radiant heat has many advantages over other central heat systems, such as forced air, but installation cost is not one of them, especially if you want to add radiant heat to an existing structure. This can be an expensive alternative. However, radiant heat can be one of the most environmentally friendly heating options when used in conjunction with solar heating panels. What Is Radiant Heat? Hydroponic Radiant Floors Unlike in a Turkish bath, the radiant heat in a modern system comes from pipes or electric heating elements embedded in the floor or installed in the joists underneath. In a hydronic system, water circulates through a boiler, which maintains it at a temperature warm enough to heat the floor. This type of system is less costly to operate than an electric system, especially if you supplement the energy source needed to heat the water by using solar panels. The pipes that carry the heated water in a hydronic system are often embedded in concrete, because concrete is a good thermal conductor. The pipes in older systems are usually copper, but newer systems employ polyethylene (PEX) tubing, which is more versatile and easier to install. PEX tubing can even be installed in existing joists, so it is possible to have radiant heat under your hardwood or tile floor without having to tear it up. Electric Radiant Heat The elements in an electric radiant heat system are typically embedded in mats that go between the subfloor and the floor covering. The best time to install these is when you are replacing the floor covering. If your floor is not due for replacement anytime soon, you can also buy mats that fit between the joists and install them from underneath the floor. Three Types of Hydronic Systems You can choose from three different hydronic heating systems: closed, open or heat exchange. Closed system. The boiler is dedicated to the heating system. The main advantage of this type of system is that you can use antifreeze instead of water as the circulating fluid. Antifreeze is less corrosive than water, which is good for the boiler, and it's also more efficient at transferring heat. Open system. The boiler supplies hot water to bathrooms and kitchens as well as the heating system. You save money because you only need one water heater. Heat exchanger. A heat exchange system combines the benefits of both open and closed systems. The pipes that supply the radiant heat system pass through the main water heater, but they are sealed and usually circulate antifreeze instead of water. And you can get creative with a heat exchange system and tie it to a solar heating panel. The pipes from the panel can circulate antifreeze through the water heater as well as the floor, lowering your water heating costs while also providing heat for the house. Pros and Cons of Radiant Heat On the plus side, a radiant heating system puts the heat exactly where you need it-under your feet. As the warm air rises, the room quickly becomes uniformly and comfortably warm without the drafts and convection currents associated with forced air. Another advantage over forced air is that a radiant system has fewer moving parts. The only components you have to service are the boiler-which can double as a hot water heater for the bathroom in a pinch-and the circulation pump, which is a relatively inexpensive item. You will be happy you have radiant heat when the power goes out during a winter storm, because the floor retains heat for a few hours. The main drawback of radiant heat is its installation cost. This probably is not a problem if you are already building or renovating. But if you are not , the cost, which can approach $9.00 per square foot in a smaller house, can definitely be a factor. Another disadvantage is that a radiant heating system does not work well as a cooling system. If you need both heating and cooling, it's usually best to go with a forced air system. As far as electric radiant heat is concerned, it's best suited as a supplement to your existing heating system. It consumes too much electricity to make it practical as a stand-alone heating system for the entire home. Compatible Floor Coverings Not all floor coverings conduct heat well enough to work with radiant heating systems. The best choice is ceramic tile, which conducts heat as well as concrete. Laminate and stone flooring, as well as solid and engineered hardwood, are also suitable. Carpeting and vinyl flooring, however, are not good choices. These materials are poor conductors of heat, and are more likely to trap heat than to allow it to radiate into the room. Should I Go with Radiant Heat? If you are building a new house or you are considering a major renovation, radiant heat should definitely be on your list of options, particularly if the house has high ceilings. The best time to install a radiant heat system is when you are building the floors. Adding radiant heat to an existing structure is more labor-intensive and expensive, but it might make sense if you already have a large, underused water heater in good condition. Keep in mind that you do not need radiant heat in every room. You will probably want it in the bedrooms, bathrooms and living room, but hallways, closets and laundry rooms do not need the extra warmth. If you are on the fence, you can always give radiant heat a test run by purchasing an under-carpet heating mat. This provides the same type of warmth you would get from an actual radiant heating system, and the installation costs are zero.

It's fluffy enough to actually pick up the powder and be gentle on your face, but it's dense enough to actually deposit color without making you look like you just dunked your face in a bowl of powder. I totally feel where you are coming from here. I had a 187 and a kabuki brush for a really long time, so if I needed that medium amount of coverage, I was kind of screwed. Haha, for a while, I would use my kabuki, but only put powder on half of it. It worked pretty well, if you want to give that a try. But then I bought a 150, and it's just about all I use now. I use my 187 for Mineralize skinfinishes and blush now. Hope this helps!2. Please answer! My Boyfriend Wants to Get Married? We Known Each Other for a Year?
My boyfriend wants to get married? We known each other for a year? You are a pig and you do not deserve him— — — — — —Need help with Guinea Pig.?guinea pigs are very sociable. if you arent planning on getting another, you need to be prepared to spend good quality time with this pet. right now, he sounds lonely and is stressed out because of his new home. he should get over this soon, but if not, or if he stops eating, try the vet--they may advise you to get a second, which you should do early on, before the pig is grown. Some fun things to do with a pig are feeding them treats like carrots, letting them play inside cereal boxes, taking them outside on a leash, and talking to them--most will "answer" back with happy squeaks!— — — — — —Guinea pig squeaking- good or bad?this is the sound a pig makes— — — — — —Have any of you been a compulsive eater?well i dont like finishing my food frist cause it makes me fell like a pig— — — — — —Which breed of pig is best to keep as a pet?It is never a good idea to buy a pet for another person without their knowledge or consent. They may have plans for the future that you are not aware of that do not involve owning that animal, and the animal will likely end up in a shelter. That being said, for an indoor pet, the only really practical pig to keep is a pot belly. They still get anywhere from 75 to 150 lbs, require more care and details than I could fit in this box, and live 10 to 15 years. There are smaller pigs but they are rare / endangered. A Pig will Completely tear up the garden, so she will need fencing to keep it out. She will also need dedicated outdoor space for the pig to roam around and root safely. If piggy is not allowed to root outdoors, piggy will do it indoors. Before buying a pig make sure to check local zoning ordinances for her county and state. Usually available online, at the local public library, or at the county business offices. Also before buying it find a vet in her area that will commit to treating pot belly pigs, you can not just assume the local vet will know pot belly pigs. They require vastly different medical treatment from farm pigs. Cost will Vary from location to location. Expect to pay anywhere from 50 - 200 for the pig if you buy it local, 500 to 600 plus shipping if you use an online breeder.
